Christmas Trends 2015: Reflective Luxury
Are you starting to prepare for Christmas? Is the time approaching when you start to dust off the Christmas tree, hunt through the decorations box and wonder what kind of look you want to create in your home this year? Many of us take the time just before the festive season to do up the home a little, decorating a room or two ready for the deluge of guests and visitors. If that’s you, and you’re looking for some Christmas trends advice, look no further. I’ve put together some of my favourite looks for this season especially for the Interior Door Systems blog.
The Scandinavian or Nordic look has been around for many years, and seems to get better and better, and more popular every year. Like every look, it evolves too and this year is no exception. If you want to recreate this look, you’ll need to think of wintery, snowy pieces in neutral colours, with lots of natural wood and luxe textures. Add sheepskins to the floors, benches and chairs, hang large Swedish stars in the hallway and windows, and add lots of clean, crisp lighting. Think of adding a stag or deer too on your accessories and possibly on your walls. Candles are another essential part of this look so play around and make your home feel Scandi chic. Check out the Nordic House online for the stunning pieces above and more, ideal for Christmas and beyond.
Mean and Moody:
If you love more of a moodier, richer scheme then this one could be for you. Think opulent, heavy colours and dark backgrounds, tempered with lighter, contemporary accessories, and dotted with industrial, raw metals and finishes. Inky blues, blacks and dark greens offer a moody, sombre feel, but add a slice of your own personality to the darker walls to create the look that suits you and your home. Once you start bringing in the Christmas decorations, you’ll find that an abundance of metallics and glass work beautifully against this scheme, and really bring the look to life. Rockett St. George is one of the best online shops for purchasing this look, and has some really quirky products for a very on-trend décor.
Glass and Mirrors:
Whichever type of theme you choose to go for this season when decorating your home you’ll notice one running theme – glass. Glass, mirrors and metallics come through all of the Christmas trends each and every time. This is why I am thrilled to introduce the new Interior Door Systems Italian Glass range of sliding wardrobes, perfect for a contemporary, bang on-trend home. The Italian glass collection was created with luxury in mind, is manufactured in Italy and comes in an array of ultra-opulent finishes. Just take a look at a small sample of what is on offer.
With 8 glass finishes available, we think you have plenty of scope to add opulence, luxury and decadence to your home. The textured finishes are perfect for a contemporary space, and particularly good for either of the Christmas trends we’ve shared here. Whether you’re using the glass in wardrobe doors, or as a divider in an open plan space they will add depth, interest and the perfect finishing touch to your scheme.
Interior Door Systems sliding door solutions are a perfect installation for Christmas, particularly when you’re about to welcome lots of visitors. Creating a minimal, clutter-free home is imperative, and of course sliding doors allow you to create an abundance of storage, essential at this time of year. Of course, pre-Christmas, they are a great place to hide those special Christmas gifts away from the children.
Interior Door Systems design bespoke storage solutions for a range of clients, from interior designers to architects, with a range of glass and metallic finishes to choose from there’s sure to be a system for everyone this Christmas. I do hope you like the two favourite Christmas trends. Will you be use one of these in your home this season?
